Summer Multicell over Lake Overholser in OKC, OK

This is a typical storm scene from the summer storm season in Oklahoma, with a multicell cluster dropping heavy rain with copious lightning over Central Oklahoma. Storms in the summer in Oklahoma are oftentimes quite electric due to strong tropical instability thanks to the moist atmosphere and sometimes steep mid-level lapse rates. A very weak shelf can be seen trying to form along the front edge of the storm’s outflow from the downdraft.
